Riwayat singkat hidup Papa

Boleh dibilang “love at the first sight”. Selanjutnya papa kami mulai dagang kecil-kecilan.

Demikian riwayat singkat hidup papa.

Sekarang kami ingin menyanyikan lagu favorit papa kami yang berjudul “Khan gua e chiu” (Hold my hand).

A Call to Spread the Good News

Two weeks ago I dreamed about Jesus when He was on His way to Golgotha. I saw He knelt down with the cross was beside Him, crown of thorns on His head. He whimpered and suffered. Seem He just felt down due to weight of the cross. To see that moment, my heart was so broken. I called His name, “Jesus!” Then I woke up. I was reminded about “Great Commission”.
The dream was almost similar with this picture.

In Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This is the last command given by Jesus to the disciples while He was on earth, before He was taken up into Heaven. This message is applicable to the called. As Christians, we are all called to share what Christ has done. Jesus came to this world, He died on Cross to set us free from eternal death.

Sharing our faith is not just a suggestion, it’s a command!

Sometime we are afraid to share our faith because we don’t know how to say. We think more than twice when we feel the burden to share. tell or not, tell or not, tell or not. And sometime we are afraid the person, to whom we share the gospel, gets offended. And maybe we’re sharing the Gospel but nothing is happening; people aren’t committing their lives to Christ. What’s wrong?

Well, we can’t open someone’s heart to the truth of the Gospel – but God can, by His Spirit.

Now, what do we do?

One of the best ways to share our faith is to live a godly life. Non-Christians often look at Christians as hypocritical because we say one thing but do another.
Show those close to us that we care—spend time with them, help meet their needs and offer to listen when they have problems. We might not be able to answer all of their questions, but they can’t deny the reality of what Christ has done in our life. If you find this is hard to do, perhaps God is speaking to you about your own need to walk more closely with Him every day.

Another important part of sharing our faith is to pray for those you interact with. If we can’t think of anyone who isn’t a Christian, pray for God to place someone in our life who needs Him.

Also make a habit of reading the Bible, praying and going to church. These things shouldn’t be done for attention or for the sake of doing them, but to help us grow in our own faith. Being passionate about Christ will help others see that there’s something different about us, and they will want to know what it is.
We can also reflect Christ through kind words, patience, a gentle temperament, choosing to love even difficult people, carefully monitoring what you watch or listen to, and treating others with respect.
At the same time, we must do more than live godly lives. People need to hear the Gospel—to hear that God loves them, Christ died for them and that they can have eternal life. Romans 10:13-14 says, “‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

I ever shared about Jesus and His love to my colleagues. Some of them felt unhappy and felt bored about it. They just didn’t want to hear it. Some just nodded their head and listened to it. Even though the result was not as expected, I felt joy and peaceful came upon me because I’ve done my part. I didn’t owe them.

Nowadays information spread rapidly because of the social media like facebook, twitter, Instagram, youtube, etc. By those media, we can post an article/video about our personal life with Jesus, His great works, God’s love and or share article about gospel. Other way, you can testify about Jesus through our club’s out reached event.

Hence, as Jesus commands us to spread the word. Just do it. Don’t think too much about the result. We do our part, God will do the rest. The world needs to hear the good news.

The Most Powerful Book on Earth

Have you read your bible today?
As a Christian, we were told to read bible and meditate on God’s word daily. Why? Because there is mystery in the scriptures written in this book. The bible contains God’s word.
John wrote, John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John1:14 also wrote “The word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace & truth”
Revelation 19:13 says “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”
Jesus is “the word of God. When we read bible, we read Jesus!
By reading bible and living in God’s word, our mind will be transformed. Our knowledge about God, Jesus, & Holy Spirit increased. Bible filters our mind from false doctrines & teaching, and it renews our mind. There is power in the scriptures because Jesus is the Lord!
Today is 29 April, it’s 2nd anniversary of the death of ring leaders of Bali Nine drug traffickers, Andrew Chan & Sukumaran. They were executed 2 years ago in Indonesia. They were arrested on April 2005, and convicted for smuggling 8.3 kg of heroin from Indonesia to Australia valued at around US$3.1 million. But they were executed 10 years later. The execution news was very big. Not only in Indonesia, the world media spotted on this case too. There were pros and cons of the execution. One of the ring leader, Andrew Chan, an Australian, was fully rehabilitated from drug and gave big positive influence in Kerobokan prison. When he was arrested in 2005, he wanted to kill himself in cell. But he cancelled it because he doesn’t want to go to Hell. Then he asked the guard for a bible. The following day, he got bible sent by his Sunday school friend surprisingly. After he read bible, his life was changed. He became a pastor & led English Christian service and bible study in prison.

In reconciling his death sentences with his faith in God, he said:
"When I got back to my cell, I said, 'God, I asked you to set me free, not kill me.' God spoke to me and said, 'Andrew, I have set you free from the inside out, I have given you life!' From that moment on I haven't stopped worshipping Him. I had never sung before, never led worship, until Jesus set me free."

You can just google “Andrew chan”, you will find many bloggers and news about him.

Another true story is Khalil, a radical muslim Egyptian (a jihadist), converted to Christianity after reading bible. His initial purpose to read bible was to write book about the lies of bible. But the scriptures had changed his mind and he met Jesus in his dream.

And about healing story, Steve Hannett, a pastor and an author, was diagnosed with cancer when he was 19 years old. He was frustrated. He didn’t know God personally. He felt fear and tarry. Three months later, he met a korean man for an alternative medicine to get well. The Korean man asked him to read bible and gave him bible study for 5 hours. He learnt a lot about sin, God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. He learnt where the cancer came from. How Jesus healed everyone. Jesus died on cross not only for his sin, but to bless him.

And the last story, my experience, about few years ago, I just read daily devotion article with some bible verse as references. That time, even though I did pray daily, my faith was easily being shaken if there was problem. Until I was not busy anymore with my job, i didn’t have things to do in office from Monday to Friday. I read online news from Monday to Friday to kill the time. Because the news was almost the same every day, I decided to read bible from genesis to revelation. Slowly my mind was changed. My faith increased and I am easily discerned the mind attack by Satan.

Bible is indeed full of power. It is powerfully enough to be used by God's Spirit to change us. It is more powerful than a surgeon's knife as it cuts deep into our inner most thoughts and desires, exposing us for what we really are, and releasing us from our sinful habits. It is living, life-changing, and it’s helping us to get the victory over our problems. When pressures and problems seem to overwhelm us, that is an excellent time to saturate our mind with God's Word.
Therefore, let’s read bible every day. Because Bible is the most powerful book ever!

Find your Specific Calling

Two months ago I watched a video about heaven in Youtube. The video shows the paintings painted based on real heaven by Korean artist who have been seeing in Heaven. Heaven is beautiful, majestic, and real. One part of the video had made me think about my specific calling in this world. The part is about when Jesus and the artist went to a very far place by airplane. The people who live in that place are very happy when see Jesus. The artist felt sad because those people can’t see Jesus everyday even if it is in heaven. Jesus told her there is a difference in level between the heaven in which perfected spirits live & average spirits live. In heaven, the houses and all the things in them differ depending on their deeds, and there is a difference in their location & the love they will receive.
Long time ago, during the reign of King Josiah of Judah. God called a priest named Jeremiah to speak to His people.
God said to Jeremiah, “I knew you before I made you in your mother’s womb, before you were born I chose you to do very special things. I chose you to be a prophet to the nations.
Jeremiah said “Oh no God! I don’t how to speak in front of other people. I’m just a boy, only a youth!
God replied “Don’t say that. You will go where I send you and say what I tell you to say.
You do not need to be afraid because I am with you. I will protect you.
Based on this story, God has specific calling for us before we were born! Live in this earth it’s not about going to school, working, getting marriage, having kids, retired, and die. What a boring life if God created us only for this kind of purpose. The purpose we’re created on earth is for God’s glory. It means to praise God, worship Him, to proclaim His greatness, and to accomplish His will. The question is What God wants us to do on earth?
Way to know our specific calling is to pursue God’s love and get to know Him as a friend so that we can enjoy His presence. Pray to Him and meditate on His word. If we are puzzled as to what His plan is for us and which passion to pursue, pray to God for guidance, and ask others to pray for us as well. If we don’t get the answer yet, find a way to serve others, whether on mission trip or in your community. Try that for a while to see what comes of it.
After I was baptized, I often asked my specific ministry as Christian. Yes, I have my own dream. But am I walking on God’s plan? I told God I have done difference kind of ministries. I served as worship leader, youth committee, usher, choir member, mission trip, and now I am in healing ministry. Last year I made conclusion my calling is to share gospel in market place. Yeah, it’s still sound general. But last month, at home, there was a question pop-up in my mind. “What will you answer if a pastor ask your prayer request?”. I prayed and told God. “Lord, I have many prayer requests, the time will not be enough if I tell the pastor. But I believe You will supply all my needs. I will ask the pastor to pray for my specific calling in this world.”
Three days later, I went to prophetic night service. There was a special guest pastor from Australia who has prophetic gift. During the worship, suddenly he asked me to go to the stage. And He prayed for me and everybody in the room listened! He revealed my specific course/calling. I was happy finally it's revealed but I didn’t understand. I just told God “Lord, let Your will be done”.
Fellow toastmasters, Paul said in Ephesians, we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. God has a specific course for us to run, but if we don't know what it is, how will we ever finish our race? Let’s find & identify your specific calling. ID .

Power in Jesus name

Once upon a time in Jerusalem. There was a lame man who laid daily at the gate of temple which called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple.
He saw Peter & John about to go into temple, asked for alms.
Peter fixing his eyes on him, with John. Peter said “look at us”.
So the lame man gave his attention to them, expecting to receive something from Peter & John.
Then Peter said, “Silver & gold I don’t have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ, rise up & walk.”
And Peter took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately the lame man’s feet & ankle bones received strength. He leaped up, stood, & walked.

There is another similar story. There was a girl followed Paul & his friends, and cried out for many days saying “These man are the servants of the Most High God. Who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” But Paul greatly annoyed, turned, and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And the spirit came out immediately from the girl.

By these stories, I would like to emphasize the power of our Lord name, Jesus Christ. When Peter said Jesus name, the lame man can walk. When Paul said Jesus name, the bad spirit came out from the girl immediately.
In Bible, Jesus taught His disciples to use His name when healed the sick & cast out the evil spirit. Jesus gave them authority to cast out evil spirit, to trample on serpents & scorpions & to resist all attacks from enemy. And when they did it, divine protection was assured. The disciples never went out alone. None of them could have accomplished what Jesus had done in their own strength.

The same is true today. Jesus gives us authority to act in His name. His name is well known in the spirit world. At the sound of His name, all evil spiritual power & principalities must bow down. Satan has been put to shame, and the name of Jesus is above every other name.
There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain. Jesus name brings healing, peaceful, encouragement, & joy. Through the name of Jesus, heaven is opened and satan is forced to flee. Satan is afraid of His name. They are shaking when heard of His name.

Talking about this, I’d like to share my experience when I was a university student. I loved to pray, praised & worshiped God at my room and I spent 1-2 hours at prayer tower twice a week after class. I stayed in boarding house, and there is graveyard behind the house. There was nothing happen, I lived peacefully. Till I was in a condition, which I called it as “test” season or “training”. It can happen at anywhere and everyone, not because of there is graveyard behind the house.
I got “nightmares” every time I slept. It was not usual nightmare. There was presence of evil spirit in my room. When I felt it, I just said “in the name of Jesus”. I could wake up and feel peaceful again. It’s almost happen every day at that time. I just said “in the name of Jesus”, the spirit left immediately. Hallelujah. They are afraid of Jesus’ name. So, another day, when I slept. Suddenly I felt there were hands hold my neck, I couldn’t breath and I couldn’t say Jesus name. But I prayed, called Jesus and said in my heart “In the name of Jesus”. Then I could wake up & breathed.
I don’t want to scare you. It can happen to anyone. It’s a test of our faith whether we continue to pray, praise & worship God after this situation. Satan doesn’t like us to pray, praise & worship God. They can’t stand in the presence of God. Remember we are a child of God, and the Spirit in us is much greater that satan. We have authority to use Jesus name.

Therefore, Whatever the circumstances we are facing now, just say “in the name of Jesus” for there is power in the name of Jesus.

Let's sing together:
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
To break every chains, to break every chains, to break every chains...

First Love

Who has ever been falling in love? Or who hasn’t ever been falling in love?

I believe all you have experienced this. One Indonesian song describes that Falling in Love has thousand feelings. Someone who fallen in Love is someone find himself/herself to be very attracted to someone and begin to love them.
But the love I want to talk about this morning is not the love between man and woman. It’s love between me and God. It’s about First Love. Yes, My first love.

I can’t remember it exactly when it happened at the first. I just remember, after I was baptized and moved out from hometown for studying at university in Yogya, I visited a charismatic church where my sister & brother served in youth ministry. My sister kept talking about Holyspirit and God’s works.

I came from a Christian family, but I only know Father God & Jesus. Holyspirit? I only know He is part of the Trinity. During the youth service of the church, I was astonished and wonder of the expression of the people there during praise and worship. They looks very happy & joyful. They sang as if they are in a music concert. They were dancing, rising their hand, and they jumped! I just clapped my hands and looked around.

During the worship session, they lifted their hands and cried loudly. This part I understood. I did crying when I was prayed at hours before I went for water baptism. At that time I made a big decision in my life to be Jesus follower. But these people were not going for water baptism. I was asking to myself, why I couldn’t praise & worship God like that, why I don’t have such felling. I knew it’s because of Holyspirit because my sister always talks about it.

When my sister back to hometown for a month. I told God I want to know Holyspirit. I open a book that she recommended me to read. The title is "Good Morning Holy Spirit" written by Ev. Benny Hinn. After read some chapters. I bowed down on my knees and prayed in my sister room. I asked Him to touch my heart. I sang a worship song and I felt my burden being lifted up, very light, and joyful. It was unspeakable and full of glory. It seemed that my sister room had been lifted into hemisphere of heaven. Holy spirit is very gentle, full of love, my comforter, and He is real.

There was a change in me. Holy spirit became alive in my life. He was no longer a distant “third person” of the trinity. He taught me & guided me. Every day I read bible, read some Christian books, I listened to Christian songs, prayed & worshiped God at my room, I loved to talk about Jesus, I went for cell group and prayer meeting, I attended minimum three services at church in a week! And I volunteered myself to serve in church by joining youth ministry.

I was so crazy, I was so curious about Him, curious about Jesus Christ. I pursued Him. Yes, I was in Love! Praise the Lord!

In bible, it is called First Love.
I believed every true believers have experienced this. But the question is do we still have this feeling right now? Do we still spend our time to have relationship with God every time? Do we read bible and meditate on His word? Do we still talk about Him everywhere? Do we put God at the first place?

In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus said:
" Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent."

I still remember, in a special service at church. While I was singing and worshiping God, my heart was full of love. Holyspirit gently asked me to say “I love Jesus” with my lips. I was thinking whether to say it. I grew up in conservative & chinese family, “love” word was almost never been spoken in my family. It’s odd. But because my heart love Jesus, I lifted my left hand to Him and I open my mouth slowly and nervously, said, “Jesus, I love you.”

Jesus is my First Love and your first love. We love Him, because He first loved us.
Let’s back to our first love. ID

Center of Evangelism

Evangelism! This word always reminds me of South Korea. In that country, every day I could see Christians were preaching or sharing gospel in public area with their own creative way. Along street in the market, subway station, in the park, I saw some people distributed leaflets about gospel, a group of youth sang Christian songs, a man was preaching loudly while riding his bicycle, some people carried out and put up banner with written words of Heaven is for real and they preached loudly.

This phenomenon is common in public area in South Korea. Something I’ve never seen in Singapore since I moved into this democratic country. I like Singapore, a country which tolerant of different religions and encourages religious harmony. But unfortunately, Evangelism is not allowed in public area.

I checked in Wikipedia, Christian population in South Korea, including the Roman Catholic, is only 29% of total population. And Singapore has 18% Christian. The Christian populations of both countries is not much different.

I was thinking about this when I prayed in church and I got wisdom. Even though evangelism in public area is not allowed in Singapore, but with its unique characteristic, I believe, from this tiny country, gospel is able to be preached out up to the unreachable ethnics group, villages, islands & nations. Why?

Strategic Location

Singapore is located at the heart of Asian trade routes. Every Ship cargoes which come from East Asia or Western countries have to pass by and stop at Singapore. There are a lot of airlines fly directly to Singapore.

People

Many people from abroad come to this country. Singapore has the lowest corporate tax rates in the world. It makes investors/businessman from other countries make business here. It creates Jobs which make professionals/workers come to work.
It also has excellent education system, that make the parents send their children to study in Singapore.
Yes, I can see and meet people with different nationalities easily in Singapore compared to South Korea. The foreigner are everywhere here!

Multicultural

Singapore is multicultural country. Even though, it has three major cultures, Chinese, Malay and India, we still can find other cultures from other country and even it’s from far-far away country.
In Singapore, I can eat any kind of food from any countries. I can find African food, Moroccan food, Arabian food and even food of minority ethnic group from China such as Uyghur & Miao ethnic.
It means almost all ethnic group from all over the world are in this country.

Language

English is the main language of this nation followed by Chinese, Bahasa, and Indian. It makes communication is easier to the foreigners in this countries. The foreigner can absorb information faster and they understand.

When I was living in Korea, I felt I grow slow because I can’t understand Korean. I need a translator and simply trusted my Korean friend while dealing with something. Yes, Language is very important for communication.

Dear fellow toastmaster, there are a lot of foreigners in Singapore. They come with different purposes, they speak in English, they leave their family/friends and start new life here, they need a friend, some of them are lonely, and many of them haven’t ever heard yet the gospel and Jesus Christ. Please let’s think about this, if we can be their friend, introduce Jesus to them, share the good news, and help them growing in Christ. I believe one day when they return to their hometown, their home country, they will share the good news to their families and friends, and to their village. Imagine started by your preaching to them, you save one ethnic group, village, and even a nation!

Hence, Singapore is a center of evangelism to reach out up to the unreachable ethnic group, village, nations and country. We can do the evangelism by building a friendship/relationship with foreigner and share the gospel to them. And all the glory to God!

Reason to be a Morning Person

I love sleep. Few things are better than when you are nice and warm, perfectly snuggled in bed. I have always considered myself to be a “night owl” for the majority of my life. Sleeping was something I looked forward to.
When Holy Spirit touched me, and I completely felt in Love with Jesus. I heard about some great pastors. How God used them to bless & heal people and they have brought many souls to Jesus. They are very sensitive with God’s voice. I read their books and found out that they have spent their time & talk with God every morning.
I still did my quiet time/devotion at night and felt it’s more effective. There were sometimes I did in the morning, sometime I successfully did it and most of the time end up fell asleep. “Sleeping in the presence of God.” But Abraham, Jacob, Job, King David, Moses and even Jesus prayed in the morning!

It’s written in Mark 1:35. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

When I went for bible study, the pastor talked again about having devotion in the morning.
This time I tried again, discipline myself with full commitment. Thanks God. Finally, I can do it daily. Well, it’s different!

The reasons to have a quiet time every morning are:
1. Let God to lead your day.

King David said in Psalm 5:3, O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.

When you start your day by filling your mind with God’s Word, with His Truth, those old thoughts don’t have a leg to stand on anymore. You’re able to put God in the driver’s seat where He belongs, rather than allowing that day to run all over you. You’re making a conscious choice about how you will view your day, which prepares you to recognize God’s gifts and His grace and hold onto them tightly so that the daily challenges won’t continue to sweep you away.

2. Peaceful mind and Joyful

Moses prayed In Psalm 90:14 "Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love; that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days."

Once I began a new routine of spending time with God first thing in the morning, my days radically changed. The problems didn’t go away, but the negative, anxious, stressful, and fearful thoughts that warred with my desire to handle it God’s way did start to go away. Little by little, I was regaining territory in the battle for my mind, and I was beginning to see my days and the obstacles that lay before me in a whole new light.

3. You are giving the 1st portion of your day to God, not the leftovers
Giving your morning to God is like using your phone when the battery is at 100% (full charge) – Your phone spent the night re-charging. Now, it is ready to go for the day. You could give God the last 3% of your battery life (when you are falling asleep, etc.) – Well, this is your choice.

4. Keep you healthy
A new study has found that night persons are at higher risk for several unhealthy conditions. And this is true regardless of the number of hours they sleep.
The study, conducted in Korea, looked at 1,620 participants between the ages of 47 and 59. They were divided in two groups, morning chronotypes group & evening group. The researchers compared the health of the morning and evening groups. They found that:
• Female evening chronotypes tended to have more abdominal fat and an increased risk of metabolic syndrome (a condition associated with the development of cardiovascular disease and diabetes).
• Male evening chronotypes overall had higher rates of diabetes and sarcopenia (a condition in which the body's muscle mass slowly declines).
• Evening chronotypes, though typically younger than morning chronotypes, generally had a higher percentage of body fat and higher blood triglyceride levels.
Even adjusting for age and lifestyle differences such as exercise, drug and alcohol consumption, and so on, the late risers were less healthy overall.

So, the morning is a great time to pray. It gets you focused on the things that matter most, such as God, family, career, and being thankful. Praying in the morning helps you meditate on those you love and even yourself.
If you have quiet time at night, that’s cool. This is my personal preference and after trying both for many years, I find mornings are way better. Hence, I think you should give mornings a try.

My Journey with Holy Spirit

I am a Mechanical Engineer, and I am from a small town in Riau province¸ Indonesia – Dumai. It’s a city rich of oil.
To me, Life is a journey. The journey will be more meaningful if I walk with Jesus. Lead by the Holy Spirit.
When I was a kid, I know I am a Christian because my father is a Christian. I was told in school and church that Jesus is Son of God. I knew Abba Father and Jesus from my head only. Until God answered my pray to let me study in a reputable university in Jogjakarta. Then, Mom & I were baptised and I moved to Jogjakarta.
Well, Jogjakarta is rich of Javanese tradition and history. This is university town, where students from all over Indonesia from different ethnic backgrounds flock to pursue knowledge & wisdom. In this city, My knowledge of the third person, Holy Spirit, was started. I found that He is real, gentle, patient, love, peace, faithful and a teacher. He helped me to know Jesus deeply. I was so happy and God always answered my prayers whatever I asked. He is my provider. I joined a youth ministry in local church, learnt how to pray and worship, and kept studying hard.
And then I moved to Jakarta. Jakarta is a big city, crowded and full of energy. I worked as Design Engineer in Japanese company. My job required me to travel to extreme place such as long travel in jungle and in male environment. It’s hard for me as a girl, then I prayed hardly for a new job. One day, an usher church leader asked me to help in usher ministry but I didn’t make decision yet. At night, when I slept, Holy Spirit spoke clearly. “You asked for a change, but when will you fulfil your vow to serve in church?.” I woke up and informed my cell-group leader immediately. “I will!”.
Only few months after serving as an usher, a big company from South Korea, called me for an interview. Amazingly I passed and I moved to Seoul. Life was different in Korea, God bless this country and people talk about gospel everywhere in this country. I was excited to explore the country, observed the culture, hunt the food, and learnt the language. Unfortunately, till now I can’t speak Korean fluently. They said I should had a Korean boyfriend.
About 3 months after moved in Korea, I was requested to help Indonesian service (it’s small community) in the biggest church in the world, Yoido Full Gospel. I refused it many times because I never ever like to take the role they offered, even when I was in Indonesia, I refused this role in cell-group meeting. I like singing but to be a worship leader was never been in my mind. But finally I took it.
I enjoyed life in Korea until condition changed slowly. I felt homesick and lonely. One day I asked God whether I should left Korea. I told Him, I would like to move to Singapore as it’s near to my hometown. God spoke when I slept, “you are the branch that is being pruned by Me.”
I woke up and prayed, “God I surrender my life to you and I will just obey You.” Few days later, life was getting harder. I got losses, one by one. Seemed never ending. Satan kept whispering, asked me to leave Jesus. I replied him and declared, “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back for whatever the circumstances are.” Day by day, week by week, and month by month, Holy Spirit guided me & strengthened my faith. I learnt in new phase level of faith, healing, forgiveness, give thanks, joyful, love, patient, and had deeper relationship with Jesus.
Thanks for His faithfulness and righteousness. One fine morning, I posted a status in Facebook that “everything beautiful in its time” for I passed the winter season of life. I got great job offering and moved to Singapore. My parents is happy and this year I got permanent residence status.
God is good. His love endures us forever. Thanks to Jesus for He has sent Holy Spirit to this world to help us. Surely, my passion is to be God’s witness and share the gospel in market place.

Aku bukan Kutu Buku

Waktu kecil, aku sering bermain bersama teman-teman tetangga.
Petualangan hidup semakin indah bersama Yesus.
ID

You are my everything

This morning, a friend shared a beautiful song and its lyric in a facebook. It's old song actually, sung by Darlene Zschech.
The lyric is as following:

You are the love of my life
You are the hope that I cling to
You mean more than this world to me
I wouldnt trade you for silver or gold
I wouldnt trade you for riches untold.
You are , you are my everything

I wouldnt take one step without you
I could never go on.
I couldnt breathe on breath without you.
I dont have the strength
To make it on my own

Chorus

Until the world stops turning
Until the stars fade, from the sky
Until the sun stops striving
I need you in my life and heres the reason why!

When I read the fourth & fifth lyric, tears was down. In my life, I often faced a situation where I had to make decision to choose between God or life partner.
I can't be not to obey to God's word because I Love Jesus. I can't compromised with this world. Yeah, this is my cross, with strength from GOD I can reach the finish line. I know He has something more for me. He will give me the BEST ONE!!!ID

Smile at Future!

Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

I got this message by randomly pick up the newyear card given by church.
Yeah, for i know this is a message for me to keep producing those fruits. I know that i am not a perfect individual. Last year and last month, I was thinking of new resolution for this year. Eventhough my wishes for long years hasn't been a real yet, I still believe that God has already answered and given to me. Step by step, I believe I am moving according to God's perfect plan.

Last year:
I met a lot of friends in church. And I settled in a church.
I went to BROMO mt. and ride a horse.
I joined a cellgroup.
I took singer audition but failed. but it's okay. And I joined Christmas Choir and performed on 24 Dec. I was happy.
I went traveling with church friends :).
I joined a retreat.
I got chronic back pain. God taught me to have a careful heart, and have warmer heart. Now, I can wear my highheels again :).
I learnt a lot of things.

For sure, I am smiling at my future because i have Jesus who always guide me.

Be Happy, Healthy and Fruitful! Happy Newyear !!!

Hope

No doubt, no worries
Because I know You
Just trust You, In You I have a hope
You had healed me, You had fulfilled my dream
I saw miracle happened to other believers and to me too.
You had taught me a faith.
I know there is a plan from You of all these circumstances.
All these is in Your control.
You are teaching me, strengthening me, and shaping me…
Give thank always to You oh Lord

My Story with Frog

It's been almost 2 months I got lower back pain after came back from long hours journey in car from Penang to Singapore.
It's frustrated, depressed, and make me sad. for at moment, I can't run and play badminton.
Everyday I have to do stretching. I have seen doctors.

Today, I went swimming. they said swimming can cure back pain. so, what style is good for curing. My landlord who ever experience back pain said the frog style.
Hahaha..I don't know to do this style. maybe I have to learn the frog style.

Frog, remind me to my biology class in high school. That time, teacher asked all group to bring a green frog to the laboratory.
I was the leader of one of group. and all the members are girls. So with my group, we went to farm to look for a green frog. luckily, heavy rain just happened last night.
Finally, I saw a frog. I didn't think too much. I just caught the frog with my right hand and scream!! I was scared actually. especially this type of frog. this is not real green frog. this frog is the most ugly one with some pimples on its body. I run and run and scream but still held the frog tightly. All people who lived there could hear me. All my friends run to me too and bring plastic bag to me. We were happy to have a frog. I was happy but with pale face.

Till we brought the frog to school and we cut it. My teacher cut the frog leg, then i follow cut the other side of the frog leg. I felt well after the experiment. id

One of Wishes Completed

How happy I am!
Yeah who is not happy if they can reach their wish. or dream come true.
It's been long time, I knew my parents wanted to visit their relative in china especially my father. Yeah our grand (grand grand) father came from China especially in Meizhou county where all the people in the province speaks hakka.

I did researched about how to go to Meizhou. Thanks to Hakka United group in Facebook, from this group i collected information to visit Meizhou. Of course, we wanted to know Hakka Culture deeply by visiting this area.

I knew My parents had a hope to visit this place someday.

In 2010, when i was a jobless. I ever told my parents, that we will visit Meizhou someday. they just smiled.
Then, I got Job in Seoul again. I was thinking that it's gonna be difficult to bring them to meizhou.
After i got my current Job, here in Singapore. I told to my parents again that we will go to Meizhou, but they were not ready yet.

Anyway, after few months, when i was free and still had remaining leaves. I pushed my parents especially my father that we will go to Meizhou. They said that they had no money. I told them that I paid the flight tickets. Then, finally I told them, I will pay everything. I will bear everything (Hotel, Transportation, meals, etc).

Then, who know I got bonus semester. Although the amount was not so big, but it might help me to support our trip.

Then 9 Oct in the morning, we flied to Guangzhou by budget airlines. we didn't use any travel agent or tour guide. we just traveled free & easy since my father can read and speak chinese well. From guangzhou, we took bus to Meizhou. Our trip had no detail plan for everyday activities. Even my father had no phone number and detail address to visit his brother (cousin).

For three nights we stayed in Meizhou in hotel, We chartered taxi to bring us sightseeing in Meizhou and to see hakka tulou in dapu and yongding, because we couldn't find local tour. So we knew the traditional house of our ancestor.

During three days, my father oftenly asked people he met about
"zhong buk ban", the place where my grand father from, and where many zhong families lives there. Nobody know. Even I tried to check internet but useless.

Then we moved to my mom's relatives place. we had their phone number and address, but we never met them. We stayed 2 nights overthere. eventhough we couldn't sleep well but we were happy to meet them. They are too many, cannot remember all.

One of sister, siau ching ( i called her sister), brought us to see around the city. In the bus, again my father asked somebody. But they didn't know the place. Then we had lunch together again with my mom's brothers. Finally my father could remember another information of the place, "sam gak gi" which now is called sam gak zen. The sister asked somebody (driver) who know the place to bring us. And we had to say goodbye to them. Gonna miss them. My mom's brother informed to their uncle in Guangzhou. Then they asked us to visit him in Guangzhou.

In our journey to sam gak zen, the driver oftenly asked somebody who know the place we looked for. He asked to some people. Finally, we saw small town and we stopped beside a man who were standing at the street. This guy know the place. we showed him photo of the people that we were looking for. He suddenly said that the man is his grandfather. wow! We were happy especially my father, tears came out from his eyes.

Finally all big family from my father side met, they are from xinning and shenzhen too. wow, it was very big family. We stayed for 1 night. then we had to move to Guangzhou.

At Guangzhou, my sukkung and his family treated us very well too. Wow, blessing came down on us. We never expected that we received many blessing from all families in china.
And you know, i counted the amount of money we spent, include transportation in sinagpore & Indonesia and visa and all in china include airline ticket. All just nice, about same amount to my bonus. wow, thanks God for everything.

note: there were a lot of lessons and funny things during our trip.
- We had to speak Bahasa Indonesia (not hakka anymore) when we talked something secret. But we oftenly forgot. hope they couldn't understand due to our hakka dialect.
- We enjoyed all the food. And accidentally, i ate dog meat again. waaaa....
- My parents spoke hakka mixed with bahasa, not because they didn't know the word but because it's habit in Indonesia...hahahaha...sometime I reminded them...
- I learnt hakka chinese culture especially tea.
- My parents got a lot of angpao. blesssing...before we thought that we would spend a lot of money to give our relatives angpao.

I am gonna miss this trip moment.

A review after a year

Dear Reader,

I have been completed living in Singapore for a year. I like this city or country. I have learned many things within a year. I think it's because of the language. This city is also save. and of courese, I am more close to my family who was living in Indonesia. Through any kind relationship, I've learned a lot. Thanks to God who has allowed me to live in Singapore. I'd like to settle in Singapore, and until i get marry, maybe i have to follow my future husband.

Eventhough it's quite boring to spend weekend in this small country, but i still like Singapore because knowledge and information is easy to get.
But still I don't like to stay in apartment. I meant i don't expect to retire in small apartment because I like garden.

The company where i work currently sent me to Europe last October. It was my first time to cross from Asia. It's Italy. I've never thought that i will be sent to Europe. Eventhough It's short trip but i was happy. I could visit Bergamo, Milan and Venice!.
And now I am going to Meizhou where my anccestor came from. I will go with my parents. Thanks to God who give me chance to bring my parents to visit our ancestor place. ID

I am His branches

“You are the branches that are being cleaned”.

This message was very strong and kept repeating in my ears. I got this message from God after I prayed and I was asking God to tell me what I should do. That time, I was very confused, frustrated, and desperate.
I was at the end of my third year in Korea, August 2010. I wanted to leave Korea and planned not to continue my contract. But I was confused, because I didn’t have yet new job if I leave Korea. I was thinking of my parents. I had to feed them took care of them. My father was not working anymore.

After I heard this message, I told God that I would not take any actions I would not end my contract. I would just surrender to God, give up everything to God. And I still wished maybe I could find new job till the end of year and I would resign at the end of year. I told to my Egyptian friend (Mahmoud) that I would continue my contract.

Few days later, about a month before 16 Sept 2010, I was told by my boss that I couldn’t continue my contract and I had to leave Korea on 16 Sept 2010. I was very broken that time. But I could accept the decision, and I would do my plan that is to find Job in Singapore. The working place that I’ve dreamed so much because it’s nearby to my hometown. I was very sad because I had to leave my friends in Korea. I was very busy looking for new job, I tried to get job in Singapore but I also sent my CV to Indonesia. Some friends help me.

After the news, at weekend (Saturday), I was going to have a picnic that was arranged by DMF. DMF is English worship service church of Yoido Full Gospel Church. It was my first time to join them. I joined them because I need a change, I hoped I could change my life. But who knows I should leave Korea. During the picnic, I was surprised by some sisters. They were very warm. They hug me and very welcome me. It was my first time to meet them. Unfortunately I had to leave Korea. We went to Cheonju. I started to like DMF people.

16th Sept 2010, I left Korea. I left my beloved friends, my colleagues, my bosses, my church friends. I was crying in my bus driver car during the journey from Anyang city to Airport. I contacted some closed friends. I cried a lot. And I cried in plane during the journey from Korea to Jakarta. After I arrived Jakarta, Tintin (ex-housemate in Jakarta) picked me up. I had two interviews about 7-10 days in Jakarta. Then I went to Pekanbaru and finally Dumai. Everyday I sent my cv to Singapore. I planned to go to Singapore after a month in Dumai. I also took driving lesson. Everyday I prayed and asked God to give me sign to move on and not stuck in Dumai. Basically I was accepted by one company in Jakarta but still in negotiation state. I was not feeling peaceful working in Jakarta. I told God I wanted to try Singapore. “Please give me a sign so that I can leave Indonesia and try to get job in Singapore”.

Few days later, one company in Singapore invited me for interview at the end of October. I was very happy. I attended the interview, I was accepted but the offering was disappointing. Many head hunters contacted me but no progress. Then I decided to take the job from the local company. I had to come to the office on Monday to apply employment pass. I felt no peaceful. I was confused. I asked God please give me sign so that I know whether it’s His will or not.
On Sunday, I attended to City Harvest Church for the first time. I knew this Church from Christa (my church friend in Korea). That time Ps. Kong Hee preached about seasons in Christian people life. He explained the season one by one and finally to Winter Season. He explained during the winter, people cleaned the dry branches so that it could produce more life. I was reminded to God message when I was in Korea, “You are the branches that are being cleaned”. I was crying and believed new life will come after winter season on my life.

On Monday, I found that the contract condition of the local company was disappointing. Because I asked God to give me a sign through the contract, I didn’t take the Job. I negotiated before I decided, but no result. Still didn’t have job, I was worry of my future. I decided to have Job in Indonesia. I called one of Indonesian company that already gave me offering, but seem the company already forgot me. It was at the end of year, difficult to find jobs. Few days later, a Korean company asked me to go to Jakarta for interview. Basically, I didn’t want to go back and work in Korea anymore. Yes, I missed Korea too much and missed my friends too much. I will give chance to Korea again. I was reminded to obey. Just obey and go back to Korea even though I didn’t like.

Early of December, I signed the contract with the Korean company. I though I had time to look for Job beside Korean Company. During waiting for my visa to Korea, I had two another interviews in good companies in Indonesia. I was accepted but I felt no satisfy again with the offerings. Basically, it’s because I had no heart to work in Jakarta anymore.
I flied back to Korea, and just obeyed. I hope I could like the Company and would be feel happy. I was thinking to change my driving license to Korean license too. Who knows I couldn’t happy by working for the company. I was very busy and worked under pressure everyday. It’s really Korean Culture. My boss was a stubborn man, workaholic, forced me left home late, and always complaint. My team mates was two faces kind of people. They told bad things about me to my boss and treated me very bad and unprofessional.
Again I asked God. What happened????!!!.....I complained and cried. I was very sad, I was thinking to leave my job and run away from Korea. My ex-colleagues from previous company also left me. They never had time to meet me. I missed them very much. I was very broken. I lost everything.

When I came back to Korea, I attended DMF again. I met again the sisters that ever had picnic to Cheonju together. They were very friendly and warm. Sunny, Jojo, Steffanie, Grace, Jinjoo, and Young-ah. Because I had no close friends anymore, I met them. They welcomed me to join their cellgroup. From the pastor Kwon speech, and the cellgroup fellowship. Slowly I learnt to keep in faith on God. I practiced the 4th Dimension that was preached by Ps. Kwon every Sunday. Slowly I could accept my condition and forget my ex-colleagues. Sometime God guided me so that I could have a breakthrough in life. I asked for breakthrough in life. Everyday I prayed and claimed, tried to think positively and changed my life-style (sleep late) and to sleep earlier, to pray earlier, to send my CV again, to have regular fasting, and to do exercise.
I was contacted by some head hunters from any countries. And finally I attended an interview in Singapore during my vacation after 6 months working for the 2nd company in Korea. I was accepted and got much better offering and even almost double than the first local company in Singapore that ever offered me. I was very very happy. I couldn’t imagine. God answered my pray. God blessed me very much. Even I could get free ticket that I never thought to leave Korea. I was so blessed. I am happy with everything and new life in Singapore.

Before I left Korea, God reminded me again. That time was earlier of Autumn. I went picnic for the 2nd time with DMF people. At the mountain, I found and picked some fruits. Autumn is my favorite season. I remembered again the Speech of Ps. Kong hee last year and about God message that telling me I was in winter condition. During the picnic, as if God said "you are in Harvest time”.

" ...I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful....." John 15:1-2
